We retrieve all numbers from free publicly available web sites. To be exact, we are using 2 major sources:
- basic company info and financial statements from moneycentral.msn.com
- Current market prices from finance.yahoo.com (all prices delayed!)
We are trying to get as much data as we can and so far this is the best combination we could find...

| General.
Certain functionality does not work. What shall I do? |

In order to give user a better experience stock2own.com uses JavaScript. That is why this is essential that your browser supports JavaScript. All web browsers cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites while you are browsing. In the long run browser cache growth and may cause performance slow down or even malfunction. Please, try to clear the browser cache if you experience slow down or malfunction of certain functionality.
How to clear the browser cache?
It depends of the browser you are using. Please, follow the instructions below or click the appropriate link for detail instructions:
1. Microsoft Internet Explorer
- Open Internet Options by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, and then clicking Internet Options.
- Click the Safety button, and then click Delete Browsing History.
- Select the check boxes next to Temporary Internet Files.
- Select the Preserve Favorites website data check box if you do not want to delete the form data and passwords associated with websites in your Favorites list.
- Click Delete.
2. Firefox (detailed instructions)
- Once your browser is open, go to Tools and select Options... (Edit then Preferences... on Linux).
- Go to the Privacy tab, and click Settings... (in the blue box in the image).
- Select what you would like to have cleared.
- Return to the Options menu. If you want your cache cleared automatically, every time you close the browser, click the appropriate checkbox (shown in red in an earlier image).
- Press "Clear Now" under the Settings button.
3. Google Chrome
- Once your browser is open, select the tools menu. (the spanner(UK) / wrench(US) in the upper-right corner).
- Select Clear Browsing data....
- Select the Empty the cache checkbox.
- If you do not wish to delete cookies, etc., remove checks from them in the list.
- Click Clear Browsing Data.
4. Safari
- Once your browser is open, click the Safari menu and select Empty Cache.
- Confirm the action by clicking Empty in the pop-up window.

On the mobile version, I keep getting 'Please, input ticker symbol to analyze' When I enter them and click analyze. How to make it work? |

Current version of wap.stock2own.com properly works with "Microsoft IE" emulator only. We are working on it - it looks like all emulators, except of "Microsoft IE" do not support "view state" which is essential... So, please, use emulator mode = "Microsoft IE" in order to work with wap.stock2own.com web site.
Your mobile device settings that allow you to work with wap.stock2own.com correctly:
1. Select "Browser" from your main menu.
2. Click "menu" button and choose "Options" from the context menu. Go to "Browser Configuration"
3. Make sure that "Support JavaScript" is checked.
You can check all check boxes on that page - it shows web sites a little bit nicer. Especially when you check "Support HTML Tables" and "Support StyleSheets". But all other than "Support JavaScript" check boxes are not required.
4. Important: "Emulation Mode" works best on many web sites I visited when you choose there "Microsoft IE".

| Search plugin.
How can I use search plugin for European or non-US stocks? |
|
If you want to retrieve the value from a non-US exchange, you must specify the non-U.S. country code
followed by the non-U.S. symbol. For example, to do this for a Canadian security, type the following line:
CA:xyz
In this example, xyz is the ticker symbol for the security.
Valid country codes available on stock2own.com can be found in the About section.
Please, keep in mind, if you do not use country code prefix in the search plugin, US country code will be used.
Examples:
IBM - will give you info about US stock IBM
US:MSFT - will give you info about US stock MSFT
DE:BMW - will give you info about German stock BMW (country code DE)

Where I can find search plugin? I clicked to allow the S2O search engine plugin and I'd like to use it, but I can't find it. |

If you want to use S2O search engine, all you have to do is select desired installed search engine from the combobox,
which usually located at the top right corner of your bwrowser (please, see attached screenshot for details),
type there information you are looking for and hit "Enter".
In order to use stock2own search plugin, we encourage you to type there country and symbol in the following format:
CountryCode:Symbol
For example, in order to search for Microsoft you have to type US:MSFT and hit enter.

| Technical Indicators.
The recommendation on my watchlist is different from the recommendation when I look up the stock. Why? |
|
There are 2 things you should be aware of:
1. In your WatchList Technical Indicator Alerts are always as of previous business day. They include only close price of the stock and do not include current price. Exact date of the alert is shown next to alert itself in your watch list. At the same time, when you analyze stock, technical indicators include CURRENT price. On the chart title you can see a note that current price included.
2. Technical Indicators Alert in your Watch List use your personal settings, however Alert in StockAnalyzer takes into account ALL charts. So, if you changed your preferences and excluded some charts, you WatchList Alert values may be different from Analyzer value. We did it because we want to avoid confusion - you can see all indicators on the chart, so we included all of them into Chart Alert, regardless of your personal settings.

| Value Price.
How do you do MOS Price calculations in the Stock Analyzer? |

All Stock Analyzer computations are based on our understanding of the Graham and Dodd approach to stock valuation. The same
methodology was elegantly described in the book "Rule #1" by Phil Town.

| Value Price.
On my stock watch page the Value price and MOS price are different than the Value and MOS prices within the stock analyzer tab. Why is that? |
|
For each Watch List line, you can define your own Value and MOS price. When you add new symbol to your watch list, those values will be populated automatically. But after that you are the only person who can update them, no auto updates for "My Value" and "My MOS" prices. The reason is simple - if you want to maintain your own numbers, you should be responsible for them. If you want them updated automatically, just use "Value Price" and "MOS" numbers, not "My Value", "My MOS" prices...
The point is for different stocks in your watch list you may want to use different projections. You may want to use even different parameters to calculate Value and MOS price for different stocks. For example, Phil Town says that good margin of safety is 50%. However, if you want to re-buy stock, know the company well, if you trust managers and so on, you may re-buy it when price drop just 20%...So, there are a lot of "adjustments" may be applied to default numbers and all those adjustments are stock-sensitive.
In order to make Watch List useful for such scenarios we added two columns "My Value Price" and "My MOS Price". You can do your own calculations with your own numbers and Watch List is still going to be useful for you. At the same time, you can use stock2own's numbers as a "baseline" or something to compare with.
How to manage your own numbers? You can update "My Value" and "My MOS" prices as often as you want. In addition to that, every time when new financial statement becomes available for this company, you will see an icon with exclamation sign in the Watch List and you know that this is definitely a right time to review your calculations and may be adjust them.

| Value Price.
Why there is a 5 year number for Value and MOS Price? |
|
In order to calculate Value or MOS price, we have to calculate "future" price, usually, in 10 years and do backward
calculations in order to determine current Value Price. However, we could find that if you calculate Value Price
going forward for 10 and for 5 years and then do backward calculations you can get 2 different numbers. And very often
there is a huge difference between them. So we decided to do 2 calculation - 10 years and a "short term" - 5 years. Now
you can see the difference and if the difference is big, you probably will want to figure out why. Is it getting better
or getting worse? And make your decision accordingly.
The problem is - almost all fast growing companies have huge
Equity Growth Rate at the begining and it is getting lower at the present time. Opposite situation with the big companies,
which are trying to recover. Our thought was that it is not fair to take smaller value for the last 10 years if the
company is getting better and better... So, we decided to give you 2 calculations: for 5 and for 10 years (or
closest available historical data). For calculations we are using equity growth rate for 5 and for 10 years accordingly.
